In Senior Infants and 1st Class the Aistear theme for the month of March is the farm. The children really enjoyed this theme and are really engaging with the stations very well. In the role play area, we acted out the scene of a busy day on the farm. Activities included milking the cow, feeding the animals, washing the animals and collecting the eggs from the henhouse. We constructed different areas of the farm using wooden blocks at the construction station. At the playdough station, we made farm animals and equipment that the farmer uses on the farm. The children wrote about the different animals at the writing station. Finally, the children made cotton wool sheep at the art station. We are had great fun working on this theme and displayed excellent creativity and super team work skills.
