Science Week began early in Junior and Senior Infants today. The children did a very exciting experiment to see which fabric was most suitable for Paddington’s jacket. First, the children watched a clip on Paddington Bear ‘Singing in the Rain’. They saw that Paddington’s famous blue duffle coat was not waterproof and as a result Paddington’s fur got wet. Paddington visited the children in Aughacasla to ask them for their help. He asked them to find out which fabric would be best to make his new coat to keep out the rain. The children tested different fabrics and recorded their findings. They all agreed the best fabric for keeping out the water was the plastic.
The children had great fun experimenting with the different materials. Have a look for yourself below.
