First Class had a fantastic day visiting the farm last Thursday, learning all about farm life and where our food comes from.
They saw a cow being milked and were amazed to learn that cows can produce around 30 litres of milk each day. The children also met a little brown cow called Mouse, who is currently unwell, and saw three newborn calves enjoying their milk.
They learned about the importance of earthworms for healthy soil and about staying safe around farm machinery. The class also spotted two rams grazing in the apple orchard.
A big thank you to Farmers Andrew and Timmy for such a wonderful visit. Timmy even treated us to a few tunes on his concertina before we left!
