This Anti-Bullying Week, the infants are taking inspiration from the beautiful story “Have You Filled a Bucket Today?” and exploring it through play. This book uses the metaphor of an invisible bucket to teach children about kindness and positive behaviour. When you do something kind, you are a “bucket filler” and add to someone’s emotional bucket, which also fills your own but when you are unkind, you are a “bucket dipper” who dips into their bucket. The book promotes the idea that being kind to others is the easiest way to be happy yourself.

This week, we’re challenging everyone to be bucket fillers. That means:
Saying kind words.
Offering to help someone.
Including others in games or conversations.
Showing respect to others.

Small acts of kindness make a big difference. Together, we can create a school where every bucket stays full and where everyone feels safe and valued.
