Dear Parents
Again, I hope this message finds you and your family safe and healthy and that everybody is planning an enjoyable Easter break in as much as is possible under the current circumstances. I just wanted to update you on the current efforts the school is making to engage with you to ensure the continuity of learning for your child.
The school is in the process of engaging with Google to setup G Suite for Education. This will enable each individual teacher to email parents work for their children directly and it will also allow you, the parent to contact your child’s class teacher with any questions or queries you might have about the assigned work. Also, Aladdin our in-school software provider is also updating the Aladdin Connect App with more features to assist us in disseminating information to you. Unfortunately, as you can imagine due to the current national and global circumstances both providers are under immense pressure from educational institutions both globally and nationally to provide these services and there is a waiting period before these services will be available to the school. It is expected that these services will be available to the school straight after Easter.
What I would request off parents for the moment is to please ensure that the school has the correct email address for you and that if you have not been receiving emails from the school to let us know. You can do this by emailing camp.ias@eircom.net and letting us know your correct email address. Secondly, if you have a smart phone and if you have not already done so would you kindly please download the Aladdin Connect App from either the App Store or the Android Store to your smart phone. The App is free for both parents to download and use. Again, if you are having any difficulties with the registration process please let me know by email and I will do my best to help you to resolve the issue. Our school website will continue to provide updates on tips and ideas of activities that can be done with your children during the current crisis so do please continue to visit it regularly.
We will not be setting formal work for the children to complete during the Easter break as it is important for the children to also take a break from their work books as well during the holiday period (hopefully to enjoy an Easter egg or two). We will however set some enjoyable tasks for them to do which will engage more informal areas of learning and will be some help to you around the house. These tasks are suggestions that you can use if you think they are suitable and beneficial and fit around your routine. They are not mandatory. Please see this work below.
Again, on behalf of myself and all the staff we hope you and your family stay safe over the Easter Break.
