On Thursday the 21st of April our 4th, 5th and 6th class were lucky enough to visit Banna Strnd where The President of Ireland, Michael D Higgins attended a State Commemoration to mark the arrival there 100 years ago of Sir Roger Casement and his companions, Robert Monteith and Daniel Bailey. President Higgins delivered a keynote address and laid a wreath at the anchor of the Aud. The national flag was raised and the Proclamation was read out. There was even a fly-over by the Air Corps. It was a great day and one we will never forget.
