The theme for Aistear this fortnight is the story ‘The Mitten’ which is a lovely winter story. The creatures of the forest are slowly making their home in a mitten – a mole, then a rabbit, a hedgehog, an owl, a badger, a fox — even a bear! They pack themselves in as tight as they can, but a small mouse manages to come in and his whiskers tickle the bear’s nose.
There are four different stations – art, drama, playdough and writing. The children have already done some lovely creations, writing and performances with this story.
