Aistear returned this week to the infant classroom. This fortnights theme is a modern version of ‘Sleeping Beauty’. The children had great fun exploring the theme through different activities.
What is Aistear?
Aistear is an early childhood framework that we use with the infant class in Aughacasla National School. The aim of Aistear is to enrich children’s learning through play. Twice a week, Junior and Senior Infants engage in the Aistear process. The class is broken into groups and each group has a different activity which focuses on a particular skill or learning objective. Some of these include, fine motor skills, literacy, numeracy, arts and craft, construction and drama. Aistear is supported by the Special Ed teachers Miss Williams and Mrs Heasman. The children really enjoy the different stations and benefit greatly from Aistear. The pictures below speak for themselves.
